Structural health monitoring and integrity management technology, together with the advanced methods of signal processing and the structural mechanics modeling method, can extract damage parameters and identify the health status of the structure by real-time information from installed sensors, and give remedial measures in early stage to eliminate or keep the security threat from further development, besides, it also can provide suggestions to avoid accidents, ensure the structure safety and reduce the maintenance cost. Furthermore, scientific, informative data for safety evaluation and residual life judgment can be provided from processing the key structural parameters in operation.
In order to strengthen academic exchanges and cooperation in the field of structural health monitoring and integrity management both domestically and internationally, and promote the continuous development and application of structural health monitoring, health diagnosis, and integrity management technologies in China, the Equipment Structure Health Monitoring and Prognostics Institution of - Deadline for submission of abstract (CIS) began hosting the International Conference on Structural Health Monitoring and Integrity Management in 2012, and has successfully held five conferences in Beijing, Nanjing, Chengdu, Hangzhou. Each conference has received unanimous praise from industry experts, creating a strong academic atmosphere and enhancing China's influence in health monitoring.
